[Steins;Sub] Steins;Gate 04

Steins;Gate episode 03 over here

Alright, this week is the first with XviD mirrors; the other 3 episodes will get 'em on the next release table (which will probably come with episode 8, since that's gonna be a 3rd of the show's length).
Anyway, enjoy!

Post on Steins;Sub

So another release is finally done x) If you haven’t visited the site during the day, you can read the recent events in the post bellow, which is why the release was slightly more delayed.

As usual I would really appreciate if you guys wanna help out with providing some DDLs :) Would be also be really great if someone would like to provide DDLs for the earlier releases who have yet to receive DDLs from all the sites :D
Also, as I mentioned earlier, I’m using a new host now and rss should be working for those of you who want to use that :)

Hope you enjoy this episode of Steins;Gate!

That's it. Comment Guidelines!

Since I am getting more and more comments, I think it is time to get some solid Policy for myself.

Biggest point that pisses me off already:

I won't reply to any more new comments on PSP-related issues if the commentator does not follow these points:
- CLEARLY describe the issue
- states his firmware / custom firmware version

A simple "Does not work, help!" will be IGNORED in the future. I don't see a reason why I should use my time to help people who lack reading comprehension in both posts and other comments and STILL fail to describe their problems in a manner I can understand and check.

READ THE OTHER POSTS and check if your issue has already been addressed. It save me the time to explain the same damn thing multiple times to multiple people in the same room. If the steps explained don't fix your issues, you can still reply and say so.

Any comments NOT in english will NOT be answered.
Exception: The comment is on a german post and thus german. Those I will answer. However, even german comments will ONLY be accepted on german posts!

Any comment that fails to deliver the message of the commentator by a mass of Typos, grammar issues or use of words that clearly are not english and are not expected to be understood by others might get deleted.
Speak english, speak clearly. I can live with bad spelling, but completely unreadable stuff that gives me a hard time understanding what you even want from me gets nuked.

EDIT YOUR COMMENTS!
If I have not yet replied to you, there is no need to double or triple post!
I will answer you if you follow these guidelines. It might take some hours, sometimes even a day or two, but you will get answers.
Use the edit feature to add to your initial post if something comes up.

If you want to report that you got it to work on your own or similar, please reply to your own post, don't post a completely seperated comment. Keep your case in your comment loop.

I won't reply to 'when is it done when is it done'-comments anymore. Patience is a virtue.
In most cases, I am kinda quick, in others I take my time, am busy with other stuff or simply don't feel like devoting my time to something when I would rather do something else entirely.

Delays and postponements get announced eventually, and estimations on stuff soon to be released might be written in some other post already.
Read the other posts and you might find the answers you seek for.

That's about it for now, if something else comes up (which I'm sure it will eventually).
I'll also post it onto the About page.

I'm glad for all the comments I get, and got some really nice conversations with some, but the majority of comments is just... ARGH! right now

Steins;Gate episode 01+02 over here

And on it goes, finally the .ts came in and Steins;Sub released their third episode.
The DDL is a bit late, though, thank Madoka for squashing my mind.
Anyway, enjoy!

Post on Steins;Sub

I kinda fell asleep during the wait for the XviD release, so later release than planed x)
Anyway, after watching the results of the poll, I decided I’ll just make two 480p releases instead, and the one named like [Steins;Sub]_Steins;Gate_03_[XviD][0C4F6C21] is XviD as you can see (same as the old 480p release). The new H264 MP4 release got the 480p tag instead. The new 480p releases of 01-02 are also released for those of you who are interested :)

Hope you guys enjoy this episode of Steins;Gate!

No PSN - Thanks Anon!

Yessu, Anonymous, our 'heroes' killed the PSN. Again.
Now that is great, isn't it?

Worldwide, people can't gain Trophies for playing their legally bought games. Cannot browse the PSN Store, can't talk to friends, can't play online, can't pay Sony the money they rightfully deserve.

This means, people are not able to grab Games or DLC from the PSN these days.

That results in the next revision of the Dissidia 012 DLC being
postponed indefinitely

Nobody knows when Anon will finally lose interest again and find another toilet to dive into; we can only hope that their parents will take them to their grandparents' this weekend for some Easter Lunch together - but don't count on it.

Again, why do kids feel the urge to "protect" those that don't want or need to be protected? Why do they call themselves Heroes of Freedom?
Why do they need to feel like heroes without even seeing that their heroic actions only ruin things for all the others?
Recklessness for the wrong cause.

They are no Heroes, they are kids with inferiority complexes.

In fact, they take our freedom to decide who to support and who not.

With that I'm out for today, Still Alive (Portal) is still stuck in my head, so bye-bye~

UPDATE:
Sony updates the situation to be rooted to 'External Intrusion'.
See? Hack-kids. Wouldn't even surprise me if childstar George Hotz is pissed and tries to take revenge on Sony for busting his ass.

Thanks for the Day off!-Giveaway

Really people, I am thankful for the lack of questions regarding PSP-stuff this weekend.
It gave me some time to enjoy myself without having to sort through a huge wall of unread mails in my inbox.

As I am in donation-mood again, I got the current Humble Bundle to gift to 3 happy followers of Another Story.

I gave away a Humble Bundle before,
and this time its round 3 with the Frozenbyte bundle.
Frozenbyte is gonna bring on Trine 2 in late summer, published by Atlus, and this bundle includes the first Trine, which makes it worth it any day!

What you need to do to get one of the three bundles I got?
Well, comment below this post, shortly stating what you did this weekend.
Not much detail necessary, I'm just curious!

It is necessary that you make yourself available for me to contact, that means posting as a guest with a valid email address, using a twitter account or your normal Disqus account. (I can't/won't contact you via facebook, yahoo or whatever)

I'll then pick three of you and send you emails with your humble bundle links!

ALL GONE! Thanks for participating!

Those of you who feel generous and/or want a Humble Bundle anyway, please donate over at:
http://www.humblebundle.com/
Please, support the good cause!

Final Fantasy V [EU] PSN Version

EU PSN version of FFV is out!
Edited the appearance similar to the one of the PSX version before, but switched the PSOne logo with a PSN one.

The PSN versions' Game ID is SCES13840, which is NOT compatible with the US PSX version I made!
You'll have to wait and hope for the US version to get the PSN version and carry your saves over.

However, this one is much smaller due to professional compression and works without issues on popsloader-less CFWs.

[Steins;Sub] Steins;Gate 01+02

As I decided to do some promotion for a subgroup that does suck the least regarding Steins;Gate, I'll post this up here.

Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN who has been doing their own research on time travel tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

Steins;Sub got the best quality of the CR ripgroups overall, kicking Commie's asses already.
As they need some DDL-guy to upload their episodes, I jumped in and thus don't see why I shouldn't post about it whenever there's a new episode.

So this post brings you the first and second episodes out of the full 24 the show is supposed to air.

I'm not in the mood to work hard on my PC right now, as I decided to reinstall the 64bit Win7 once I was done reinstalling the first time, due to cheap-as-hell RAM.
This serves as a nice and easy distraction.

Now let's give Steins;Sub the spotlight.

Steins;Gate episode 01

Post on Steins;Sub

UTW-Mazui decided to drop Steins;Gate, so I thought I could make my own CR rips so I could at least watch it in my style. Not with some fucking big ugly font and weirdly shifted subs.

I was done with the script almost 2 days ago, made the post here since I thought I would release sometime after that, but the DL of the transport stream on Share decided to stop around 90%…
It didn’t move pretty much at all for several hours. But anyway, it is now done.

So here is episode 01 of Steins;Gate, enjoy

Recovering.

Last night's Windows Updates killed my PC.
Had to reinstall Win7 cause all the usual recovery-actions failed.
Gladly, I could carry over most of my personal files and settings, but as it is, I'm still installing the software I need.

That means, I'm pretty busy, means more delays to FF8 and less frequent comment-replies (though it seems I covered most stuff already and people are being a tad lazy and don't read the other comments).

So yeah, I'd say go play some of the other games or watch Anime while I'm sorting things out.
For Anime, I'd recommend Yumekui Merry, as Interrobang!? put up a batch torrent and it's probably the most underrated show of the last few seasons.

Preview: Updated Dissidia 012 DLC Pack

As I was curious, I took the time to edit the PARAM.pbp file inside the Dissidia 012 DLC Pack to edit the appearance.

You won't get the updated pack before next week at the earliest, though, as I don't see a purpose in uploading that stuff just for an added FFXIII Music Pack;
On the ~21st we'll get Cecil's and Vaan's 4th Costumes, though, so there will be an update once they arrive.

I will also upload two seperate versions, one EU and one US.

Look may be subject to change

PS: I decided to update to 6.20 PRO-B4 Permanent and its running like a charm. Easy to setup if you follow this tutorial

PSP - 6.35 PRO-B4 Update

Okay, as the new PSP Firmware comes in, a short warning NOT to upgrade!

Those using PRO-B could update to B4, or even get a permanent B4 that's running on 6.20 (there's a downgrader from 6.35 to 6.20 that works around the version check and lets you install the older firmware without additional risks), but I myself am fine with not having the permanent one, so I'll stick to 6.35 PRO-B4.

To check that stuff out and download the B4-version, visit

PSPSlimHacks.com

If you have not yet set up a CFW on your PSP and are running below or exactly 6.35 OFW, you can follow this tutorial, but switch the 635PROUPDATE and 635FastRecovery with the ones over here to skip a step in the process and get straight to B4.

Those who already use a PRO-version can download the same B4-Package, uninstall their old PRO by running the launcher you installed it with or the B4-Launcher and remove the old one / reinstall using B4.
Once you've installed B4, you are up to date and can use the B4-Fast Recovery like usual

Magicka: Vietnam - Epic as Hell!

Magicka Vietnam got released a couple of hours ago.
I've now come to play it with Alkaid and hell, it is better than I thought it could be!

Challenging as hell, fun, unique and involving fire.

The complete Magicka Collection, including base game, Survival Kit and Vietnam is available via Steam for 7.99€ / $7.99 til Thursday!
As you will need the base game to have a use for the following, be relieved, as that one is 50 % off (4.99€ / $4.99) as well

To celebrate the release, I'll be giving away two of the Vietnam DLC packs and one Survival Kit to three people.

Requirements:

Vietnam DLC (2 winners):
Who lies dead in the crypt on the Churchyard in Chapter 9 of Magicka?

Survival Kit (1 winner):
What is the most useful thing about the Grease-Magick?

Only answers that got posted on the comment section during the next 24 hours after this post's release qualify.

You have to use either an actual Disqus account or sign in via Twitter so I can reach you to deliver the key - if you win.
I need to be able to contact you!

Do not guess multiple times. If I see you trying more than once, all your answers will get disqualified, no matter if they're right or wrong.

Good luck and Dunka Dunka!

First time I'm pissed at @THQ

Update:

This is being worked on. We'll have more information in a bit on what's going to happen once that's figured out.

Pressure was high enough, it seems.

Visit this thread to request your code

You know, I love THQ, their devs, their Games.
This is the very first time I got utterly disappointed and screwed by them.

I'm always backing you up, THQ, but this current "Retribution Collector's Edition Owners get Dark Angels DLC for free"-situation is pissing me off to the utmost.

First, let us look back at the 'Bonus Incoming' newspost on community.dawnofwar2.com:

Firstly, thank you to each and every one of you for your support of Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War II: Retribution and for making the launch a success.

Unfortunately we did see a lot of feedback from some disgruntled customers who had bought the Collector’s Edition under the assumption that the race packs were exclusive to that particular version of the game. While we had communicated that the race packs were not exclusive to the collector’s edition and would be available for a nominal fee to any Dawn of War fan at launch, it was never our intention to upset people who only bought the collector’s edition for the digital unlocks.

Because we appreciate the feedback you give us as part of our community and because we value your support, we are going to be giving all those customers who ordered the Collector’s Edition a special bonus within the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for further information and in the mean time enjoy the game.

This Bonus turned out to be the Dark Angels DLC.
Seeing how the DLC is set at $7.50 and 'only' a model/skin pack for the DA chapter, getting it for free would be a great thing.

However, sending out the promised mails to the owners of the CE did not work out as hoped.
On the release day, the 6th of April, hardly any players got their key via mail, while some eventually got PMs on the dow2-community forum with their codes included.

At this point, the whole thing was already screwed.
Instead of planning ahead, the CE owners got their codes at least a day after those customers who simply bought the DLC on the various stores like D2D and Steam.

A couple of days later, today, a new message comes up, screwing International customers to the UTMOST!

I can confirm this is the case. If you have received a code via PM on these forums, and live outside of the US, it was unintended. I would rather you heard it from THQ/Relic than me, so there you have it.

Can I point out, at no point in time did Egon know that this wouldn't apply to EU customers, nor did he specify if you purchased the CE outside of the THQ store if you would be receiving it.

The reasoning behind this is that North American customers suffered a delay in shipping (which they paid for) and this is their compensation.

So basically, if you did not buy it from the US, you don't get what they ADVERTISED FOR THE LAST MONTH.
Making it worse, a lack of information and structure lets you hope and hope and hope just to let you get screwed all over again.

I have no issue with not getting the DLC for free, as I always loved the CE and saw this one as a bonus.
But I absolutely HATE how this issue was being addressed and how they simply change their promises.

This is not the way I want THQ to work, and certainly not how I feel comfortable as a long time customer.
Leaving me hanging with a promise for days before even a word of the restrictions reaches the light of day is the worst you could have done.

I'm always in defense of you and even a pricy DLC as this one, but it seems horribly lackluster now.

I ask you, kind THQ, to recognise your failing and will make sure to correct it.

Modhood on CL, Ho!

Okay, some may have heard it, but I just recently got promoted to Modhood on TheColorless.net.

This means I might post a bit less frequent (again), but don't worry, I'll bring you FF8 this weekend if I get to it.

Right now I'm enjoying that my help over there is being appreciated and I am not as limited in my ways of support anymore.

CL has improved a hell lot lately, so make sure you come visit!

Lololol GW + UTW

Quick post:

Okay, the warhammer audiodramas etc got temporarily taken down,
even the dark eldar and some khemri-related news are affected (for whatever reasons).
no free advertisement or news-posting for GW anymore, it seems.

As I'm too lazy to repeat stuff right now, they'll stay down, I won't post any more updates on their new models (shame, today the new Khemri got put up for preorder) or books, but I'm always open for a talk or questions, so if you wanna reach me, you should know how =)

Btw, UTW dropped Steins;Gate because Crunchyroll's scripts are supposed to be 'excellent' this time.
I love you UTW, but I beg your pardon.

You know HorribleSubs? Those that do the CR video rips?
Compare them to UTW on ji-hi.net

http://www.ji-hi.net/sp11/steins/

Can you REALLY say that script is actually GOOD?!
No songs, signs are only sporadically subbed, if at all etc.

Dunno if that was more thought of as a joke when I talked to Alkaid earlier, but I'm gonna practice typesetting now *sigh*
Let's see if we can fix some CR scripts, time them ourselves and at least make the subs look not-so-eyecancerish. If that 'experiment' is working well for us personally, who knows what might become of it?

PSP Tutorial: [6.35 PRO-B3]

Alright, people asked me about how to install a custom firmware onto their PSPs more frequently since I started concentrating on PSP releases.
I've always recommended 6.35 PRO to them.

The PROs are:

- running on one of the newest official firmwares
- inbuilt recovery menu and plugin manager
- run ISOs and CSOs straight from the XMB
- no game patching for older firmwares needed
- inbuilt PSX (pops) support
- play signed Games
- high plugin compatibility
- access the PSN from your PSP
- creates KEYS.BIN for games you bought from the PSN and lets you share them
- a hell lot more

Contras:

- you have to start the Fast Recovery into PRO after every complete reboot of the PSP
- the inbuilt PSX support can make trouble for some games
- some older plugins might not work (yet)
- I seriously am thinking about more cons, but can't find any.
- SAVEGAMES from OLDER CUSTOM FIRMWARES might not be usable, so better use it on a clean system!

Okay, that much for the ups and downs.

What do you need?

Important:
Don't use a small Memory Stick. You won't be able to do much with a small one anyway.
You can use a 2GB one without issues, but don't expect to be able to put a lot of games on it!
Get an 8 GB one, official Sony ones are about 20€ over here, so it wouldn't be as bad, considering you get games for free ;)

First you need to upgrade to 6.35 official firmware, obviously.
Check your current firmware on your PSP (Settings - System Settings - System Information)

- If you're already above that, stop reading here. You will need to wait for people to hack the newer stuff.
- If you already are on 6.35, ignore this step.

Grab the Firmware here or on PSP Slim Hacks

DOWNLOAD

Extract the RAR you downloaded up there. Open up the "PSP Firmware 6.35"-folder and copy the "UPDATE"-folder in it onto your PSP.
It needs to be at "X:\PSP\GAME", where X: is the letter of your drive.

It then should look like this:

Before Updating, I recommend BACKING YOUR FILES UP!
Mainly your "SAVEDATA" folder (X:\PSP\SAVEDATA) and whatever games are on your memory stick already
This is a security measure just in case something goes wrong.

Run the Update from your PSP's menu.
Choosing the GAME-category and browsing your memory stick should bring up the UPDATE.
Follow the screen instructions and make sure your PSP's battery is charged (I recommend charging it while you're at it).

Once the Update is done, you may connect your PSP to your computer again and delete the "UPDATE"-folder.
Check your System Information to make sure you're now on 6.35 OFW.

Next step:

Get into the folder you downloaded and pick up the
"635PROUPDATE" and "635FastRecovery"-folders.
Copy them to PSP\GAME like you did with the 6.35 firmware update

Get onto your PSP again, Game category, run the "635 PRO-B Updater".

In the upcoming screen, pick the "launch CFW" option by pressing
The updater will install the files needed onto your PSP and then reboot into 6.35 PRO-B3 already.

The work is basically done now.

However, as this is not a permanent CFW but has to be restarted after your PSP was fully turned off (not after a standby), there now is a shortcut.
Use the Fast Recovery-tool to instantly reboot your PSP into 6.35 PRO-B3 without having to get into that menu again.

You should already be able to run ISOs and PSX games etc, but I'd like to recommend some tweaking.

From the PSP's XMB, press SELECT to bring up the VSH menu and get into the Recovery Menu.

"Configuration" brings us to the fun part.

Here you can fake your PSP's region, switch the ISO Mode (although you can do that from the simple VSH menu) and hide your MAC address etc.
I don't recomment switching your XMB USB Device. Leave it at Memory stick.
If you don't know what you're doing, you'll screw up your whole PSP!

However, Enable 'Skip Game Boot Screen' if you're annoyed by the PSP logo popping up before your game starts, same for the Sony logo.
Enable the Custom Update Server and Protect flash in USB device mount.

Especially useful is the option of letting your PSP get charged when its connected to your computer via USB.
This works not only in the usual USB connection mode, so you can browse your pictures, videos or games and still get charged.

Make sure your Plugins are enabled at the Advanced-entry of the Recovery menu and you may leave it.

If you have enabled plugins from the Plugin menu, make sure to Restart the VSH menu once, otherwise the new ones will not work.

To play ISOs or the compressed CSOs simply create an "ISO" folder at the root of your Memory Stick, next to VIDEO, PICTURE and PSP.
Throw your games in and they should show up in your XMB.
For games that are in EBOOT.pbp format, copy them into a folder in PSP/GAME, like the UPDATE or PRO.
If you got Final Fantasy IV, for example, make a folder called FFIV or whatever you want and copy the Eboot and whatever comes with the game (KEYS.BIN or Documentation) into it.

Okay, I know you like taking screenshots and stuff like that, so I put some plugins into the package that I think are useful.

First you need to create a "seplugins" folder on your memory stick, like you did with "ISO".
You can also simply copy the one I put into the package for now.

Inside that folder, you'll find 3 textfiles: VSH.txt, GAME.txt and POPS.txt.
These files manage your plugins.
VSH is anything outside of games or homebrews; your PSP's XMB etc.
The GAME.txt is for PSP Games, while the POPS.txt is the one necessary for PSOne-titles, no matter whether they're custom made or from the PlayStation Network.

Plugins usually come as ".prx" files, sometimes with additional files necessary to run them.
In the .txt files, you'll need to write down the path to the main .prx of the plugin and enable or disable it with a 1 or 0 at the end.

For the screenshot plugin, you'd need to write the following line into the .txt files to enable it:

ms0:/seplugins/prxshot/prxshot.prx 1

or for GO users that use the GO's internal storage:

ef0:/seplugins/prxshot/prxshot.prx 1

You'll see, I already added PRXShot to all three of them, which means that you'll be able to take screenshots using the -button.
However, for that to work, you might first need to get into the "PSP"-folder on your device and check if there's a "SCREENSHOT"-folder. If not, create it.

The POPS.txt also includes the line "flash0:/kd/usb.prx 1" already, which enables USB support when running PSOne games.

I put in an additional plugin called "usbversionfake.prx", which lets you fake your PSP's firmware version so you might use MediaGo to browse the PSN on your computer.
Copy the files into "seplugins" and add a line to VSH.txt, linking to the usbversionfake.prx and enable it.

If you want to en- or disable a plugin without the computer, check the recovery menu of your PSP.

Remember that you'll need to restart the VSH menu once before Plugin settings are applied!

I think that's about it!

I'll add more stuff if questions come up!

Final Fantasy VII [US] PSX2PSP

Okay, I've tweaked the appearances a bit more and now am out of ideas, so I'll stop delaying it any more.

This version's savegames are fully compatible with the PSN version (which is soon to follow this release) and vice versa.

It's up to you to decide whether you want to play the PSN one which does not require popsloader-stuff or anything else, or the more enjoyable appearance of my single-disc eboots.

I converted the US PSOne version into this PSX2PSP release, making sure the game IDs of PSN and PSX version are identical.

You can use these on Pro-B without any issues, they will run just well.
As for the pops version necessary on earlier firmwares - I don't have a clue, sadly. I'd appreciate if someone could tell me about that later on.

The upside about these 3 seperate discs is that you don't need to carry the whole game around at once.
You can drop the discs you already completed or have not reached yet.

I hope you enjoy it~

I even went as far as to record a video and upload it on youtube.

FF7 slightly delayed~

Sorry for the FF7 delay, but I'll try to throw FF VIII onto the net before next weekend.
The PSN versions of both games will follow one day after their PSX releases.

That being said, let me mention that I've already finished the conversion of FF7 and am only searching for pictures representative of the 3 discs.

Anyway, that's my work in progress. Let me know if you're fine with that so I can try and upload it at night.
I myself am not really happy about disc 2, though

Disc 1, 2 and 3 respectively

Tackling FFVII PSX

Started working on FFVII's PSX2PSP port.
Got the PSN version, making the savegames compatible with both like I did with FFIX.
So yeah, expect this one to get released before this weekend ends.

Thats about it for today, getting back for Dunka Dunka; Magicka Vietnam is getting released on the 12th for $4.99!

PS:
I'm in need of some good pictures fitting the 3 discs, like the great northern cave for disc 3.
So if you got some (as big as possible, 480x272 is the PSP's native resolution), link them in the comments!

Anime Library Icons v3

Been almost 3 months since the last revision, so here's the updated set of anime icons.

Expect the next update as soon as the new season finally begins!
If requests come up, I'll add them til then, so feel free~

The Icons include the sizes:
64x64 - 96x96 - 128x128 - 192x192 - 256x256 - 512x512 and the original size of the Picture (about 225x350, iirc).
The Pictures were taken from MyAnimeList.net's anime entries.
Included are both ICO and PNG versions.

(note: I'm using Windows 7 and the Icons look best with big symbol view)

Following are some technical infos, but I myself am too lazy to write anything more.

I tried it on 6.35 Pro-B3, no issues with the inbuilt pops loader.

As I only own that one PSP, I can't support old Popsloader versions, I simply don't know how they work or anything.
All I know is that the game will probably work with later Pops loader versions and on 6.20 TN and 6.35 Pro-B's inbuilt pops.

So please, don't ask me about popsloader stuff;
put the folder with the eboot.pbp into PSP/GAME and it should show up in the XMB.
