Recovering.
Last night's Windows Updates killed my PC.
Had to reinstall Win7 cause all the usual recovery-actions failed.
Gladly, I could carry over most of my personal files and settings, but as it is, I'm still installing the software I need.
That means, I'm pretty busy, means more delays to FF8 and less frequent comment-replies (though it seems I covered most stuff already and people are being a tad lazy and don't read the other comments).
So yeah, I'd say go play some of the other games or watch Anime while I'm sorting things out.
For Anime, I'd recommend Yumekui Merry, as Interrobang!? put up a batch torrent and it's probably the most underrated show of the last few seasons.

Sorry to hear that pal. Fortunately all your personal files are accessible & able to recover. If my external hdd were to malfunctioned, all my hard work (especially 1080s) goes to the garbage bin. I guess its time to get new one.
Hope to hear from you again.
Well, even in worst-case scenarios, I'd have a majority of files safe, and could redownload most of the stuff I use within days.
But since that'd burn my line, I'd rather not to.
Currently I'm using 2x 1TB, 1x 1.5 TB and another old IDE 40 GB HDDs, so my files are split.
The 40gb one is gonna get removed at late summer/fall and replaced by another S-ATA with at least 2 TB, but I'd need an additional S-ATA controller (all 4 mainboard slots taken).
But well, I might as well get a 2 TB eSATA HDD for ~15-20€ more than the internal one and use these fancy new esata slots...
but I'm straying from the topic |D
it's just a momentary dissonance, nothing to worry about right now.
Just finished migrating my old files into the new windows and purged the old installation from my HDD, which saved up about 80 GB - looks like I had a lot of shit in there.
So yeah, you'll get new posts xP
Man your region must have very high bandwidth. I'm using 1mbps with unlimited usage, at most 20mbps package that my country has to offer but it's pricy with limited usage, so imagine the number of days if I were to re-download all my stuff with the current 1mbps.
And your storage is about 4TB in total, that's hardcore to me (Man just what do you store for that volume?). For now I'm trying to squeeze as much as I can in my 1TB for now due to financial issues arise at the moment. I guess I'm gonna get a 2TB external. That will last for maybe more than 2 years I guess, unless I deem that my current hdd is too old, therefore got to get another one, which is another sum.
Life is not easy, applies to everything.
Well, I'm lucky, I got to live in a region where the probably best ISP over here modernised the connections, while others have trouble with their lines all the time.
Had a 32mbit line before, but recently upgraded to 100mbit as it is a difference of 3€ during the first year and all in all 10€ more than 32bit after that year, which is not that heavy, I think, considering how much I up- and download.
Ah, my Anime Library is huge, my audiobooks take another huge part of the cake and I got some very old files I never really look through these days I still don't want to lose completely.
Oh, and of course the games and software.
Damn these times of 1080p! If you have the space, you use it without thinking much OTL
Man that is so cheap for the upgrade & also look at the gap between the upgrade, envy. I wish my country has that.
Kind of agree with you, I used to be generous in terms of anime library, to the extend of owning both 720s & 1080s copy per series, sometimes with BDMVs & there goes with the audio with both lossless & lossy sets without second thoughts.
Now gotta cut back so that my storage can last a little longer until I'm financially fine to purchase another.
It only recently got to that stage over here, and its only available at veeeeery few ISPs that actually worked to improve the infrastructure as the country itself does not see any need to support them.
If your area isn't modernised like that you can't benefit from anything, so its still more like an exception - albeit a wonderful one =)
Exactly, back then we had to live with 40gb harddrives and it worked, we could fit music, games and everything on there.
Now, in times of highest quality possible releases, everything needs to be lossless and all that.
No matter that good MP3 rips aren't even noticeable less good than FLAc ones, at least not on portable devices and simple stereo soundsets.
It's a search for perfection rooting from our own minds rather than the improved quality.
One thing I noticed about live action HD movies is that they tend to be an eyesore, blurry as hell and the motions look unnatural.
That seems to be due to the old 24fps nature, that simply aren't providing enough pictures for smooth movements and effects.
That's one thing I'm curious about for The Hobbit movies - recorded and aired at 48fps which are supposed to even make 3D gentle.
Well, Tech's improving every day, it just takes time til it gets affordable..
