I bet those that loved the PS2-patched Higurashi Visual Novels will love to hear that there now is finally a project for Umineko, using the PS3 graphics and even voices!
It is real. I read/played through the the Tea Party of episode 1 before falling asleep.
The patch has completed the first episode, Legend of the Golden Witch, but requires a clean install of the first 4 Umineko vns, which got a collected release anyway.
Just install Alliance of the Golden Witch and you're good to go.
The ONLY issue is the massive filesize.
The patch is about 5.19 GB and I don't yet know if it includes the files for the other 3 episodes. While it of course has the basic character sprites, I really hope it already got the other stuff imported.
However, after asking for a native setting to change the window resolution, a quick patch followed.
They sure are dedicated and got my full approval.
Hell, they even included the translation of The Witch Hunt! and included options to switch the volume level of bgm and voices and even the textbox backgrounds are changeable!

I'll be talking to the guys leading the project and maybe even upload some full version once I think the time has come.
Maybe they'll use a better image compression so the filesize doesn't rise even more, who knows? Well, I'll find out~

Wonderful. The original art was horrible.
this is really really nice. The only problem that i seem to be having is the fact why can not I access the menus to change the bgm levels or the screen back ground text? Every thing else seems to work beautifully though.

does this work onlly on PS3?!?! isn't there a way to make it run even on PC?
This project is porting the PS3 graphics and sounds to the already existant PC version.
That is awesome haha. I love the umineko and higurashi series and this is simply great. No offense but to me the only flaw in the novels were the er....lesser quality graphics.
